MindVault privacy policy

MindVault holds your ideas โ€” maps, notes, priorities โ€” and every one of them stays on your device. There is nothing to sign into, nothing is uploaded, and the copy installed from an app store makes no network connections at all.

Last updated 5 August 2026.

What stays on your device

Your mind maps โ€” every node, note, color and priority โ€” live in the app's private storage on the device. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server holding a copy. The app opts out of Android's cloud backup, so your maps are not uploaded there either. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.

A map leaves the device only when you export or share it yourself โ€” as an image, an outline, or a file โ€” and then it goes only to the place you chose to send it.

What the developer can see

Nothing. There is no analytics service, no crash reporting and no telemetry. The app keeps a private count of feature usage on your device to inform its own screens; it is never transmitted anywhere.

The one thing that can leave the device

The update check โ€” direct installs only. A copy of MindVault installed directly (not from an app store) asks a static file on distrib.securitasmachina.org for a version number, at most once every six hours while the app is open. That request carries nothing about you โ€” no identifier and no content. Copies installed from an app store do not include this mechanism, request no network permission, and make no connections of any kind.

Permissions, and why

App-store copies: none. The store build requests no permissions at all.

Directly-installed copies request Internet access solely for the update check described above, and permission to install its own updates when you approve one. Both exist only so a copy outside a store can still receive fixes.

Children

MindVault is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone, of any age.

Changes, and getting in touch

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the app's release notes say what changed. Questions can go to the contact page.
